ADWISE Legal Team, contracted by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) for the benefit of the MHTI, completed a research and policy proposal project dedicated to identifying main gaps in the sphere of e-commerce regulations and presenting regulatory reform proposals.
The project included interviews and focus-group discussions with over 40 diverse private and public stakeholders, and a comprehensive desk research.
The project showed that, along with recent and ongoing improvements, certain important regulatory gaps still remain — including in the areas of taxation, e-contracts, regulation of online trading platform activities, and more technical aspects such as customs, payment processing, and currency controls.
Comprehensive proposals were presented to the MHTI regarding the focus areas for regulatory reforms and legislative amendments.
