Advancing Corporate GHG Emissions Reporting in Armenia

ADWISE Consulting is pleased to announce the successful completion of the project “Needs Assessment and Awareness Raising for GHG Emissions Reporting in Armenia,” implemented in partnership with UNDP Armenia within the framework of UNDP’s “Climate Promise Armenia – From Pledge to Impact” initiative.

The project aimed to support the development of corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting in Armenia by strengthening private-sector awareness, assessing existing capacities, and exploring opportunities for aligning national practices with international standards. As climate action and transparency become increasingly important for businesses worldwide, this initiative addressed a critical gap in Armenia’s corporate sustainability landscape.

Project Scope and Key Activities

Throughout the project, the ADWISE Consulting team carried out a series of analytical and capacity-building activities designed to provide both practical insights and strategic direction:

• Market analysis of current practices and trends: An in-depth review was conducted to understand the current state of corporate GHG emissions reporting in Armenia, including voluntary disclosures, emerging trends, and key drivers influencing private-sector engagement.
• Assessment of private-sector needs and capacities: The team evaluated the readiness of Armenian companies to measure, report, and disclose GHG emissions, identifying technical, institutional, and knowledge-related gaps, as well as sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
• Review of international best practices: International GHG reporting and disclosure standards were analyzed to assess their applicability and relevance to the Armenian context, with particular attention to global frameworks increasingly influencing corporate reporting requirements.
• Awareness-raising and capacity-building trainings: Dedicated training sessions were delivered to private-sector stakeholders, aimed at increasing awareness of GHG emissions reporting, its benefits for businesses, and its role in enhancing transparency, competitiveness, and climate resilience.
